Peaberry coffee beans occur naturally when a coffee cherry develops only one round bean instead of the usual two flat-sided beans. Tanzanian Peaberry coffee is prized for its vibrant acidity, intense sweetness, and concentrated flavor. Extra work goes into sorting these beans from the crop.

Tanzania’s Arabica coffee is primarily produced by over 320,000 smallholder farmers who grow coffee on plots between 0.5 to 3 hectares. These small farms account for more than 90% of the country's annual coffee output of 30,000 to 40,000 metric tons. Arabica beans make up approximately 60% of Tanzania’s coffee production, with harvest season running from July to October.

Impressions

Alexre: Bahari Blend
"The bahari blend is fantastic and I think it hits for different people too. I enjoyed it because it is complex and I think being medium roast makes it approachable for folks. I made it for my in-laws over a weekend and they really liked it too. It's rare to find something we can all agree on, coffee wise."
Justinere: Velvet Hour Espresso Blend
“Velvet Hour is so yum — I love using it for my home espresso drinks. It has that nostalgic vibe that reminds me of the coffee from home, which makes every cup feel extra special.”
Altheare: hive home roaster
"My favorite part about using the Hive roaster was definitely the smell — I didn’t realize roasting coffee could smell so amazing. It was such a fun experience to be around it. I also loved how small the batches are, so if you mess up a little, it doesn’t feel like a huge loss. It made the whole process feel approachable and enjoyable."
